Notice is, hereby given that the Ordinance titled and summarized below will be considered by Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia for adoption at its meeting on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in Council chambers in the Municipal Building located at 308 Locust Street, Columbia, Pennsylvania: an Ordinance of the Borough of Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, amending Chapter 181 of the Code of the Borough of Columbia – Solid Waste, Section 181-1 – Definitions, to revise the definition of refuse container; providing for the repeal of inconsistent ordinances; providing for the severability of the Ordinance; and providing that the Ordinance shall take effect as provided by Pennsylvania law. A complete copy of the Ordinance may be inspected at the Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street, Columbia, PA during regular business hours and the Lancaster Law Library, located at 50 North Duke Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania during regular business hours.

Notice is hereby given the Columbia Borough Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for the Third Monday of every month has been rescheduled.  These meetings have been rescheduled for the Fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm on the following dates:  4/24/18, 5/22/18, 6/26/18, 7/24/18, 8/28/18, 9/25/18, 10/23/18 & 11/27/18.  The December meeting will be held as previously advertised on 12/17/18.  The Finance Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 5/22/18 will now be held on Monday, 5/21/18.  If you are a person with a disability wishing to attend and require an accommodation to participate in the meeting, please contact the Borough Office at 684-2467.

“Invitation to Bid”

The Borough Council of the Borough of Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is accepting proposals for a one-time contract to perform certain professional (consulting) services work involving the development of a Parks & Recreation Plan for the Borough of Columbia. Below is a link to information relating to submitting a proposal including specific requirements, the organization of the proposal, proposal evaluation criteria, and the proposed contract.

The Borough Council of Columbia Pennsylvania hereby gives notice of intent to purchase a T3 compost Trommel Screen from Peterson Corporation in Eugene Oregon for the purpose of screening trash from collected municipal yard waste. EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

The Borough of Columbia is accepting applications for Seasonal Part-time Trolley/Bus drivers.  Must have high school diploma or Ged, valid Class A or B CDL license with passenger and air brake endorsements, a clean driving record, experience as a school bus driver or public transit operator preferred.  The successful candidate(s) will be required to obtain a CDL Medical examination/certification every two years by a specified physician.  Current pay rate is $15.00/hour.  Applications and job descriptions are available at the Columbia Borough Municipal Building, 308 Locust Street, Columbia, PA 17512.
