Residential Rental Information
The Borough of Columbia wants to ensure that the homes within the Borough are as safe as possible. Therefore, the Borough Code requires that all rental properties be inspected for life safety issues in accordance with Sections 112-6.C & D of the Code of Ordinances of Columbia Borough. The Code Enforcement Office is available to assist property owners, ensuring compliance with Borough Codes. Every rental property must be inspected before occupancy and every time there is a change in occupancy (tenants). It is the property owner's responsibility to understand and comply with all borough codes and ordinances. Inspections must be scheduled.
Borough Code staff will also do a voluntary safety inspection for homes that are for sale.
